At Madam Sparrow Markets in Chirn Park on the Gold Coast, May 25

Yesterday, I was at the Madam Sparrow Markets in Chirn Park on the Gold Coast. It was a good day, the sun came out for the day, so people came out and we all had a some sales :) The ladies who bought from me, mostly bought the jewelry as gifts and were impressed that I provided the just purchased jewelry in an organza bag, ready for gift giving ... I don't like my handmade jewelry to leave the table in just a small plastic bag, each piece is special and have to be treated as such.

At this market yesterday, I had my new smaller table (1.5m), in order to transport and set up everything more easily, instead of dragging my husband and daughter out so very early in the morning and trying to pack in a big 1.8m table and the rest of the stuff in my car, travel with 2 cars, only for them to travel the 30 min back home and do the trip again the afternoon! So now I am able to pack out and setup alone in the mornings and they help me pack up the afternoon and we go for a late lunch out together!!!!

For the few nights before I tried various layouts on this new table, still wanting to use the black frames that I made for my jewelry display for this market, as I demonstrated on how to make a jewelry display for my market in November 2011... So I hope this table layout looked fine ! The only issue was I couldn't fit my straw bargain bowel for $5 earrings, bracelets and necklaces, but I will try another layout next time...

The jewelry I sell at the market is different to the jewelry I sell in my very busy etsy store RBJohnson Designs, so I had to open a new Etsy Store, Nuri Jewelry to sell my 'market' everyday range, which is still in its very infancy stages of it's online presence.

The word Nuri for the new shop, was made up by my daughter Nuhaa and is derived from the first 2 letters my daughter and my names (Nuhaa and Rishka)! She was very excited about this and so I just had to do it :)

Popular things that were bought were at the markets yesterday were:

A few pairs of Silver Leaf Earrings

The new Droplet Necklace in Silver

Rose Necklace - Mostly as Mother's Day gifts :)

And of course the ever popular Bird and Branch Leaf Lariat

So just to end off, I had a great time at the market yesterday and met a few new people and made new friends, the market has grown and is now spilling into the lane, where I stood yesterday.. I may not be able to make the next market, as I may attend the ETSY Sydney Success Symposium, but I will certainly be coming back to Madam Sparrow's Market later in the year...
