The start of the new year 2015 has been quite busy, with all the upcoming Weddings for Valentines Day.. then an urgent personalized request for a bride, with a wedding date in January 2015. 

She wanted a single initial floating on a bracelet along with initial and pearl necklaces. I made up some samples took the pictures, sent the pictures to her and she decided which she liked. Her custom reserved listing was made up, she ordered them express to New Zealand and I made them the next day and shipped within 24 hours!

Just a few days before Christmas I received an order to make up 10 Single Pearl Bridesmaid Necklaces for a bride in Latonia, KY in the United States. When I saw the order I was so excited she had chosen Red as her pearl color.

The Silver Leaf Lariat Necklace is back!!!

I haven't made this silver leaf lariat necklace for a while and then received 2 requests for the necklace and decided to make them again.. As usual they are made to order and may take up to 2 days to complete.

As with all other pieces made by me, this necklace is made using Rhodium plated over brass and is nickel free, therefore great for those with sensitive skins.

It's almost June !!!!

It has been a while since my last post, having a 1 year son, 7 year old daughter around and working part-time as a computer programmer (2-3 days a week) has kept me quite busy, along with keeping up on the daily orders of bridesmaid, flowergirl and jewellery for RBJohnson Designs.

On top of all of this during May I completed a Certificate IV  in Small Business Management, which was something I had wanted to complete for a long time . The course is usually a 6 month full-time tertiary level course and I had RPL(Recognistion of Prior Learning) the coursework as I have some small business experience. I am extremely happy and grateful that my husband was able to look after the kids and manage food, while I attended the evening classes over the past few weeks!

The course is designed to help manage principles and practice of running a small business, as well as financial planning, legal and business requirements and customer services. Having a mentoring one-on-one during the course helped me look at the actions I need to forward RBJohnson Designs, workout a real cash flow spreadsheet and Profit and Loss Statement. So will keep you posted on actions completed ..
